A loss

Ruben, the maintenance supervisor in my apartment complex, is leaving. I am upset and sad. Ruben's been the head of maintenance here for 15 years. He made sure it was easy and convenient for me to get repairs in my home.

After the slumlords I had in my last apartment who often refused to do the repairs I needed, Ruben was a breath of fresh air.

I wish I knew the person management will get to replace him will run things equally well, but I don't know for sure. I can't go back to having to beg to get a clogged toilet or a leak repaired.

Ruben was not only a wonderful supervisor, he is a good, kind, caring, decent man. Those don't come around every day.

I will greatly miss him, his enthusiasm for his work and his friendly face. 😍

Loss is hard, whatever form it takes.
